A little snow finally tonight. can't believe this winter so far, as no snow at all here, but lots around us. I'm sure we will pay soon.
Got Ev to the Mall yesterday in the wheel chair & got her to the stores she wanted. Kinda hard pushing with my bum wrist, but glad I could do it. I'm finished with my Christmas shopping I think. Hard to get into shopping much at this age.
Still trying to get onto Morgan's new Blog & no luck. Got to be doing something wrong. I'm sorry that I write on my very seldom. Just lead kind of a boring life, so not that much to write about.
Had $300 of work done on our car friday & now today the drivers window won't work. I checked that out & they want $350 to fix that, so on hold for now. Just so it doesn't go down & can't get it up.
Made peanut butter/oatmeal cookies tonight. Not good for the waist, but I love them & will share them.
Evelyn asleep in the easy chair, so trying to be quiet in here with the computer & a puzzle. Lost one edge piece of a 1000 piece pizzle & that is bugging me.
Okay enough for now-

A nasty rainy day, & am sick of rainy days. Not doing much lately. Very hard for Evelyn to get out. I do get to the store & bank every couple days.
This next month we have a few Doctors appointments, which will make us go. Both in Rochester & Auburn. I do worry driving because of my problems, but not ready to give it up yet. Most thing here that are necessary are close by.
Have been enjoying the new Super Wal-mart here, which is much nicer than the Super one in Auburn. Lots of brightness & wide isles.
Expecting some trick or treaters tonight, so got a big bag of candy for that. Got things we like, so if if not many come.
Ev not breathing good lately & lots of pain, so I worry about her. She tries to do things, but very hard for her. Her 71st is this week.
We are invited to Jim's 50th next saturday, but don't think we can go. A long trip over there & party after dark, which I can't drive after dark. Also Ev & the steps to get in over there. Also Ev's daughters wedding in Binghamton that day & also to far for us to try that either. Haven't seen them in a long time.
Talked to Cheryl, Jan & Kathy on the phone the past couple days. Tried to call Sandi a couple times, but no luck. Jan & George gone to Buffalo to help Garrett move this weekend.
Okay hang in there you all & I love you-

Had some old thoughts tonight & will write about them. I might have written of this before, so forgive me if I have.
Was watching some Real Estate trasactions on T-V & it is hard to believe the price of homes today. My thought was that in about 1950 I built my first home for $6,500. This was just the material, as it took me two years & I did all the work myself & with no power tools. My Dad did help me and advise me along the way. I sold it later for $12,000. Even a house like that today would probably be up in the 80 to 100 thousand range. Of course I was working for about $2,000 a year then.
I drew up the plans for this home & the bank accepted them. Also only a four persent interest rate & I believe a $39 a month payment. I was a pretty good carpenter, but not a good cabinet maker. My Father, God Bless Him taught me a lot about carpentry.
Along with this story is the cottage I built on the lake. I believe it was 1958 & I was given a small old place on the lake that I tore down. Took a while but I built what I felt was a cute small cottage, with a dock and boat hoist. Sold this in 1963 after Phyllis died & was deeply in debt for $6,500. Boy what would that be worth today.
Sure have a lot of memories, both good and bad. Hate to go near the lake today where that was, as that was one of the hardest things I ever was forced to let go of.
Okay that my housing and building story for today-
