Today we went to the funeral home to say goodbye to our friend & neighbor. A sad day, but she is at peace , I believe. She had no children, so her nieces & nephews are here cleaning out her things. She was a collector & saver, so I'm sure it is quite a job. I see the big dumpster out back is full allready. We will miss her, as we visited daily & I took her to the Nursing Home some to see her Husband there.
Found out she had her Stroke on the local Scat Van, while headed to the nursing home. Poor Joe her husband is bad dementia, so will probably not realize she is gone. it hit Evelyn bad, as they had become very good friends.
Kathy was here while we were at the funeral home & left a large planter for our deck. It was so nice last year to have the same.. I try to put a few flowers in a smaller planter on our railing. have been fighting bees out there on the deck this year.
Tomorrow Ev' daughter from Binghamton & family are coming. I'm fixing a Ham dinner & just made an apple pie. I made the pie from apples that neighbor Stella ask me to get at the store for her the day she had her stroke. She gave me money to get them, so I gave the money to her nephew yesterday & decided to do the pie. Even if I do say so, I make a pretty good pie.
Weather nice today, but a heavy rain just as we came home from calling hours. Ev had a bad time getting out, but was determined to go with me there. She has not had a good several days breathing & pain. We go back to the Vascular Surgeon in Rochester on wenesday & will hope somone can help her some. I'm a little concerned about driving up there, but so far okay. I know the day is coming that I can't. We both know that if it wasn't for her Rochester Doctors she wouldn't be here today, so can't think of giving that up.
In about three weeks or so, David will be coming up to his little home in the country for a while & anxious to see hime. She will come up later I guess.
To all the Mothers have a good Mother's Day. I know I have told this story to some, but it is hard to believe, but very true. I walked away from my Mother's grave at the Lakeview cemetary one day & she said " Goodbye Bob" very plainly. This is true & I can never forget it.
