Can't believe I haven't written on my blog site in a long time. Hard sometimes to think of things to write about.
Evelyn getting thru her operation on her arm. It has only been three months since the arm problem started. Now it is opened up, cleaned out & sewed up & in a sling and cast. For how long we don't know yet.
I have a miserable cold, which I've had for several days. If not better tomorrow, I'm calling the Doctors ( Evelyn's Orders ).
We can't do much so just staying in . I do get to the store & bank. Got a puzzle going, but can't get into that much yet.
The weather is kinda lousy, but suppose to get better this weekend. I'm looking forward to the start of Baseball season, as I'm a baseball nut. Guess that comes from being a third baseman in highschool.
Hope when weather gets good we can get out some. Try not to drive far because of all my health problems. Ev can go in wheelchair usually & I always carry one in the car.
Guess thats all the excitement-Dad/Grampa/& Friend

Lazy sunday-Cheryl & Michelle here & brought lunch-Got my new chair yesterday & much more comfortable than the one I had-Will be a pleasure to lay back & read & fall asleep in it-I thank Kathy & Stella for it-
Evelyn still fighting her arm wound-It has been two months now & still not healing-They started her on a WOUND VAC this past week & hoping it will make it heal-Feel bad for her with two tubes coming out of her-When she left the hospital they put her on 4 liters of oxygen & said they could go no higher-She also wears her Pic line yet, which goes down into her chest-We are coping, but not doing much-A nurse comes every other day & an aid two days a week-
Only a week til March 1st & can't wait- Seems like a long winter-A lot of running with the hospital stays & Doctor visits, but weather has cooperated pretty much so far-Get tired very easily at times, but hanging in pretty well so far myself-

Interesting day, but not too much going on. first thing this morning the head nurse of the visiting nursing service came. She had said she would give me a test this morning on taking care of Ev's open wound from surgery. She wantsto cut down to coming only twice a week if possible. Said it might be a month before the wound closes.
Anyway as instructed I proceeded to clean the area & the clean the opening inside & out. Then it needs to be re-bandaged & made secure for the day. Just as I was finishing up under her supervision, the mantenance man came to replace our bathroom faucet & I had to leave the scene for a few minutes. When I came back she said I will give you an A & I said not an A+. She no I can't as you left the job incomplete.
Anyway I will accept that & now am in charge of treating the wound/opening each day. Have to wear rubber gloves and be sterile & careful, but even though I shake some I can handle it.
Off to shopping and bank after that & at the bank Amy gave me a cute CD to look at which I did tonight & I thank her for it.
Tomorrow I head to Auburn for my check up & hope the snow predicted holds off. I take the cell phone so Ev can get me if needed. Hope no more close calls like the one in Auburn last week. Will stop in at Kathy's office to check on her while over there. Also to Med supply to pick up some portable oxygen.
Now to Facebook/Farmville which we both play at times.

Today was an interesting & odd day. Took Evelyn to doctors in Auburn to be checked out since coming home from the hospital on thursday. Doctor thought she was better & could stop the IV anti biotics she has been on for ten days. He will check her again in a week. She has been a very sick girl.
On way to Doctors a lady came at us head on in the wrong lane & police chasing her. She took the curb and sidewalk before hitting us, but a scary moment.
Nurse here tonight & took the PICK line out of her arm and chest. Will just have to keep them coming to change dressing and bandage till healed more. Both arms look a mess & she is still in pain a lot. She is a lucky lady to be alive after this scare & the one back in August.
Little ticked this morning, as I have to take her to the car in wheelchair & they didn't have walks clean of snow, so I shoveled myself.
Still not seen many of the family for Christmas, & miss that. we had a nice dinner here with Kathy & Gary on Christmas day & then Jan, George and the kids here to see me and exchange, a couple days later. then I was off to the hospital to see Ev.
Okay all for now & time to read & hit the bed soon-Dad/Grampa
